Food & wine

Fresh from the Atlantic

Grilled fish by the harbour, octopus by the beach and sunset tables above the ocean. These are our favourite places to eat around Lourinhã.

Taste of Lourinhã

Octopus, wine & brandy

Octopus festival. Every May, restaurants across Lourinhã take part in the Quinzena Gastronómica do Polvo, a fortnight of special octopus dishes, from classic polvo à lagareiro to octopus ceviche.

Lisboa wines. Lourinhã sits in the Lisboa wine region, where cool Atlantic breezes make fresh, easy-drinking whites and reds. Ask for the local wine by the jug or the bottle.

Aguardente DOC Lourinhã. Finish with a glass of Lourinhã's own aged brandy, from Portugal's only demarcated brandy region.
